Fashion Friday Foto-a little late!

This is what I wore from Target on Friday, my pajamas! I never had a chance to get dressed before I went to work so I stayed in these. They're pretty cute. I wear them ALL the time. I decided to get them because my house is a fish bowl.

How fun that Lindsay and Gretchen wore their Target clothes!!

I Heart Target!

I would like to clarify that I do enjoy Target, a little too much. I am not ashamed of Target clothing. I think Target clothing rocks. I just need a little more variety. So on behalf of Target and all those who like their clothing, I think we should all wear our Target clothes tomorrow, June 27th. Everyone can blog their outfits. Can't wait to see ya!

This is a Good One!

My friend Cecile had one heck of a week. Take a look.

Random Thoughts

1. My sister said I don't take enough pictures of my babies. I said it's because they are usually bundled up and you can only see their faces. Here's a picture of them hanging out.

2. My babies have a neck problem called tortacollis. It's a muscle problem where the head is smashed to one side as the baby is growing in the womb. Since the babies neck muscle is more developed on one side the baby favors that side and the head tilts. Kate's doesn't seem as bad as Claire's. I like what Andy calls the girls; Claire-tortacollis, Kate-sortacollis. Physical therapy is an option if it doesn't look like the babies are growing out of it. Kate's feet also turn in, you can see that in her picture on the left. Both physical issues are common in twins.

3. Have you ever gone into Target and realized every piece of clothing you are wearing was purchased from Target? Every time I pull up to Target and I realize I am wearing their clothes I am mortified. I usually forget about it by the time I get through the front door.

4. Which brings me to the subject of buying clothes. Since I never get out to the mall, I usually buy my clothes at Target or Costco. I know I could buy online for myself but I usually end up going to the kids section on the website and buy my kids clothes. Anyway, after I went to the movies Saturday I went to Anne Taylor Loft. We begged the clerk to let us try on some clothes even though they were supposed to be closing. I bought three items. I wore one of them to a ward barbecue and my friend complimented me on the shirt. She asked where I bought it. I wanted to dance and sing "Anne Taylor Loft". I felt like a normal fashionable person. What is a normal fashionable person?

5. Andy rarely reads my blog. If he were to read this, he'd deny that statement. Today he finally read my post on Father's Day. He wanted me to make some corrections about the post. First, he wanted to know why I had pictures of him facing different directions. I thought it was a good idea for you to see Andy from ALL angles. Second, when Max had the conversation with Andy, Andy was vacuuming. Andy said that readers may not think it was funny because I left out that detail. He said it would be easier for readers to understand that Max thought I should be cleaning rather than Andy because it was Father's Day. (that was awfully painful trying to explain) Third, Andy asked how come I didn't explain my undying love for him. I told him it was Father's Day not How Much I Love My Spouse Day.

6. Yesterday Michael's friend asked, "Michael, why is your house always messy?" I was surprised because I felt like I had just cleaned it. I responded "why are you ugly and your momma dresses you funny?" No, I didn't say that.

7. Finally, (thanks for reading all of this) I have started drinking Caffeine Free Diet Coke. I'll admit that it's not for religious purposes. I cut back on the "loaded" product because I've been having a hard time sleeping. I drag almost all morning and it takes me a long time to fall asleep at night. I haven't noticed much of a difference. Maybe I'll go back to the fully loaded Diet Coke.

Blogworthy

Jan, the day has come, you are finally blogworthy. It's taken you a long time to get here but, with a picture like this, it's worth the wait. Lexie, Jan and Brenna spent the day at our house a couple of weeks ago. Rather than going to Subway for lunch, Jan brought Subway to our house! She also brought the diapers and wipes you can see to the right. The visit in itself was worth getting a spot on my blog. Having the kids play together and having the chance to visit saves the day. It's good that the twins were here to entertain since we didn't have any inflatable toy to play on or a pool to swim in. Thanks for everything Jan!

Dear Kate

Dear Kate,
I just want to say thanks for spending some "quality time" with me tonight. I know, it's hard for you to be away from me. Especially when I take some time away from everyone to go to the movies.

But we made up my time away by spending 1 1/2 hours together while everyone slept. I like playing our little game we play so well. You stick out your tongue, I stick mine out. Back and forth we play and then finally you smile. You cute little girl!

xoxo,
your favorite mom

p.s. please tell Claire that I'd much rather have her smiling at me at 5 a.m. rather than screaming at me at 5 a.m.

btw- the movie was very funny!

Dear Claire

Dear Claire,

Please don't smile at me at 5 a.m. 5 a.m is a sleeping time, not a happy time. Really though, I'd be smiling too if I got a milk shake that early in the morning.

xoxo,
your tired mother

p.s. No photo of you smiling at 5 a.m. I don't need the flash to wake you up more that you already are.

Notes To Self

1. Never make a dentist appointment for kids for 8:30 a.m.

2. Never go to appointment unless office calls the day before to remind me.

3. If it seems like kids sleeping-in will be easier, skip appointment. Especially if I don't receive call reminding me of appointment.

4. If I am uncertain about appointment CALL the office before waking kids and loading all kids into car.

5. If I load all kids into car and feel a sense of uncertainty, run into office before taking out all kids to go into appointment.

6. Remember that I am the mother of two newborns. Therefore, if I put it on the calendar, it may not be correct.

7. Did I say, never make a dentist appointment for 8:30 a.m?

I've Got My Eye On You Missy!

I love this pink tricycle and I love watching Maggie ride it. It's been my favorite thing to do this Spring, watch her ride along. I've never seen a child love their tricycle so much. It's like she just got her drivers license and is addicted to her car.
Maggie has been very sneaky these days. I have not had a child like her, so sneaky. I've seen her walk past her dad and hide something that she shouldn't be holding. The look on her face is clearly showing that she is doing something she knows she shouldn't. She's been sneaking food into my room and trying to hide it when someone walks in. It's not hard for her to sneak food into our room. I'm in such a whirl wind right now, I don't notice much. Last night, I gave Maggie a popsicle and didn't think twice after I gave it to her. I saw her a few minutes later, no popsicle in hand. "Where's the popsicle Maggie?" I asked. "It's dead" she responded. "Dead where Maggie?" I found it under my bed. And that's where Maggie went after we found the popsicle, to her bed for the night. After fighting with Maggie all morning I had an "inspirational" thought. I decided that I don't care if Maggie likes me but I really want to like her. So it's time to start cracking the whip! Later, I took Maggie to get my 44 oz. fix. I bought her a Slush Puppy and told her that was the only treat she could get. She decided taking matters into her own hands. She started running out of the store without me. I grabbed her only to find that she had stolen a sucker! Unbelievable. My mean jeans are on and Maggie is in for a rough time. My hopes are that I can have a little less chaos and more control in the house. 15 years from now, when we are in therapy for her childhood trauma, I'll pull out the picture of her tricycle.

Dia de Padre

I'm not the one who is saying that Andy is a great dad. The neighbors tell me all the time that they love watching Andy play with the kids. Andy really earned daddy bonus points after we had the twins. When it comes to feeding the babies, I'll take the early shift and Andy takes the later one. We've both managed to get a decent amount of sleep with this routine. Another spectacular thing about Andy is when I have to run an errand. I'll offer to take a baby with me. Andy always says "no, I'll take them, you deserve a break." Thanks Andy!

Father's Day Quote from Max: Dad, you shouldn't be doing that. Mom should. It's Father's Day.

(It's okay Max. Dad can still do it.)

Sharing the Love!

Thanks Diane for giving me this award. I really appreciate the thoughtfulness. The creator of the award has a touching blog. Go visit her when you have a chance. Anyway, it's been hard to figure out who to pass this to. So many people have shared their love since I had the twins. Some people don't have blogs like Katy, the Harmon's, and Mariana. Other's already received the award. So I think I'll pass this on to my friend Melanie. Each day is a labor of love for her. So here you go dear friend, I think the world of you!

Yay Me!

Look what I won! I won this pin cushion by entering a contest on Tina's blog. It pays off to go blog hopping at 4 am. What a very nice surprise. Thanks Tina!

Oh Crap! Part 2 (read first post)

Why do babies poop AGAIN after being changed, re wrapped, and put back to sleep? Peeewww! Why does smell scar mom so she can't go back to sleep?

Oh Crap!

Why do babies poop at 4 am (notice time of post)? It wakes up the baby only to have to try and put baby back to sleep. Also, who is putting blue fruit snacks in Claire's bottle? I've never seen green poop in a formula fed baby! I'll spare you the details by not including a photo.

A Very LOOOONG Week

How did I kill my laptop? I was giving Claire a bath. The bathtub got too full. It slipped down from the sink and water went on my counter, going on my laptop. My hands were full, I had a baby full of shampoo and a wet laptop. Luckily, Michael was watching me and he grabbed the computer and dried it off the best he could. When I finished the baths I tried to turn the laptop on. It was dead. I was mortified. My stomach had a sick feeling. What should I do? This computer had been my life for months. My escape. My companion. My friend. (I know, I'm desperate) After getting advice from two experts I did the following.... Turn the laptop upside down and shake the water out. Take the battery out. Allow it to dry for a couple of days. Luckily, there was no water that came out when I turned it upside down. Anyway, I couldn't sleep well that night. I kept dreaming that I would turn my computer on and it would work. I woke up to feed the babies, there wasn't anything to do. I was worried sick. Plus, how was I going to take my laptop to the Apple Store with 5 kids? How was I going to pay for this repair? This morning, day two, I took the laptop out and turned it on. Sweet Mother of Pearl my laptop worked!!!!!! What a miracle. I haven't noticed one problem. Blessed be Apple.

Now that that I have made this short story long, I will tell you about the longest 5 days I've had since who-knows-when. Since last week. No seriously, this has been longest 5 days. It all started Monday, the first weekday my kids were out of school. I feel like I've been slapped in face with the realization that I have 5 kids. Here are some things my kids have said this week...
  • Mom, I'm bored.
  • Mom, can I have tons of candy to eat?
  • Mom, I'm hungry
  • Mom, can I play with a friend that lives 5 miles away so you can figure out how I can get there?
  • Mom, Maggie is all the way down the street wearing just her underwear.
  • Mom, I'm sick.
  • Mom, who can I play with?
  • Mom, I'm bored.
  • I don't want to help you.
  • Where's my......?
  • BlaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhWaaaaaaaaaa!!!! (baby cries)
As a Mom, I've learned I always have to be thinking ahead. For example, I have to pick up the kids from basketball camp and while I am out I will run errands but I also have to think about what time the babies last ate and bring bottles, diapers, etc. If I run an errand will I have to bring ALL the kids in with me or leave them in the car (I KNOW, it's illegal). So keep in mind that I'm constantly trying to plan ahead with all the things I have done this week:
  • Take the babies to their two month well-check (that's two co-payments by the way).
  • Pick the boys up from basketball camp.
  • Take the boys to another camp.
  • Take Max to reading class.
  • Go to Costco with twins and one son (will never do that again).
  • Feed all 5 children.
  • Keep track of all 5 children.
  • Realize that 3 of 5 children have probably eaten candy for meals this week.
  • With in one hour son cuts his hand, dad takes him to get stitches. Deal with two screaming babies, decide to bath them. Water spills on computer, it dies.
  • Go to eat a bag of chocolate chips and realize I am trying to lose weight, dang it!!
Since this has been a long week, I am going to make this blog LONGER. The following are events that made up for all the chaos that happened this week...
  • My neighbor tells me she'll be sending her daughters over every day to help me with my kids, house cleaning, etc.
  • My neighbor (same one) takes the twins every Monday night so I can sleep.
  • My friend surprises me with dinner and helps me clean my kitchen.
  • My friend invites all of us over to hang out at her house. This means I don't have to stay inside and deal with the daily bouts of chaos.
  • My computer turned on!!!!
  • My friend came to visit, bringing a cute gift.
See, it all evens out in the end. Doesn't it seem like once we are all adjusted to school being out it's time for school to start?

Withdrawls

I've killed my laptop. I'm seriously sick about this. Who knows when I'll be back in the blogging world. Farewell my friends. Until it's fixed......

Greaaat

I don't know what's up with my kids and their picture taking. They seem to be taking pictures of things I'm not really fond of. For example, when Michael took the picture of me while I was in the shower. Who really wants a picture of themselves looking in the fridge? He mid-as-well take a picture of me shoving food in my face sporting my double chin. Thanks Michael!
