Fashion Friday
This is what the babies wear when they are asleep: a nice receiving blanket. I swaddle those babies so tight. You'd think they struggle breathing but the tighter the better.
This is what they wore today to their brothers 1st grade program. They rarely get dressed up. The blankets are their regular outfits.

Wow
During a 3 am feeding I ran across this newspaper article. Basically, it's about a SAHM who makes a living blogging. They estimate her monthly revenue could be $40,000 a month! Her husband quit his job in 2005 to do all the advertising that goes along with her blog. I know that my blog is worth $40,000 a month but I don't take it that seriously. If you go to her blog you will see that she gets over 200 comments on each post. I don't know what that would be like, I get around 4 comments. And I appreciate every one of those comments. I love comments but have learned that I can't base my self-worth on comments. I could only do that if I received 200 + comments that fed my ego.
This brings me to explaining one of the reasons why I started blogging. I am a big XM radio fan. I especially enjoy listening to Oprah and Friends, XM 156. I haven't listened to radio for weeks but that has nothing to do with this story. I like the Gayle King show. One day I was listening to her show and decided I would call and leave a message telling Gayle how I felt about a topic she was discussing. That day I received a call from her show and asked if I wanted to share my comment with her. You bet! I was so excited to talk to Gayle King and share my all-important opinion with her. I knew we would bond immediately. I couldn't sleep. I canceled an appointment just to talk to her. The time came, her show called me and I was ready to talk. I waited and waited and waited. Finally, it was my turn. I followed protocol: I didn't ask how she was doing and I didn't tell her how much I loved her show. Then I spoke. I said hello and I said two sentences. That was it. She then took over the rest of the conversation. I didn't get another word in. I tried to say something. She cut me off and said goodbye. I was in disbelief. What about our bonding? What about my whit and great sense of humor? What about being flown to NY to be guest on her show? I realized that this was Gayle's radio show and it was really about her, not about me. She likes what she has to say and has the chance to say it to all XM listeners. I don't have that chance. That's where my blog comes in. I can say what I want, when I want, and I'm content with that. It's my blog and I can say what I want to. I'll take my 4-8 comments and run with them. It's worth $40,000 to me. Who knows, maybe Gayle King will read my blog and post a comment. I'd let her do that and it can be more than 2 sentences.

Fashion Friday
I'm joining the Fashion Friday Club. I wasn't invited to join and it may not be an official club. It just looked like a fun thing to do. I don't know if I can participate every Friday. Let me know if there are any rules or protocol to Fashion Friday Fotos .

I've Made SOME Mistakes
For those of you who REALLY know me, you know that I strive for perfection and rarely make mistakes. Whatever! Here are a few mistakes I've made the past couple of weeks......
Michael's pack rat, I mean his back pack. He was using his old back pack, his smaller one. My motive was he couldn't get so much crap in it. In a moment of chaos between Michael and Maggie, I told them they could have the diaper bags that were given to me in the hospital. They were both thrilled about this. Little did I know that Michael would be using this bag as a school bag. It goes with him wherever he goes. He doesn't realize that the name of a formula is on the bag. Hopefully his classmates don't either.
Today I learned that he took his bag to school AND the bottle. He showed the bottle for show-n-tell.
Another mistake, having Maggie hold the babies in the hospital. This was her open invitation to hold the babies whenever she wants. She started picking them up when they were in their car seats. I put the babies back in their crib so she couldn't reach them. Not good enough! She managed to pick up the baby from the crib!!! GASP!!! Luckily the babies are wrapped so tight that she hasn't dropped them. She isn't picking them up to make me mad, she only picks them up when they are crying. I finally put her in time-out today. Keep your fingers crossed that this won't happen again. By the way, I realize that it's not really a mistake to let her hold them in the hospital.
My final mistake...taking my eye off of Maggie. My life is now devoted to guarding babies. I consider myself their life saver. Not only is Maggie carrying the babies, she is constantly hugging and poking them. I can't have the babies out of my site. I am not over exaggerating. While I was on guard, Maggie went into the kitchen. She seemed to be there for a while. When she came back into my bedroom she had yellow all over her clothes and hands. "I have eggs" is what she said. Sure enough, she found an egg on the counter and decided to play with it. This is where it landed, on the rug on my kitchen floor. It's all very chaotic.

Oopsie Poopsie!
Last night was tub night. Everyone needed a bath. The three older ones needed some attention but not as much as the two young ones. As I was intently bathing this one, Kate, Andy started asking why there was poop on the floor. I had no idea and wasn't really concerned. When I finished the bath I started walking down the hall and noticed poop chunks on the floor. I felt something funny in between my toes. It was poop. Somehow this sweet little girl managed to poop all the way down the hall as I took her to take her bath. I must be a little dazed.
Today we had a few visitors, some friends from work. It was great to have them come by. Katy brought me some bottled pickles, yummy! Maggie went straight to the fridge and announced to everyone that we already had pickles. These pickles are better! Anthony did really well feeding Kate. I had to give him a little coaching but I think he's ready to babysit. Jan was so helpful by playing with Maggie. She gave her the attention she needed to feel like everyone was there to see her, not necessarily the twins. Thanks for the visit!

Random Thoughts
This 40 foot obstacle course saved my life a couple of weeks ago. We got it for Max's birthday. I know a guy who owns the business, Jim. He is awesome! I totally recommend using him for any fundraiser or birthday or event, etc. We already have our inflatables reserved for the 4th of July. Anyway, the kids just played and played and played ALL DAY! It was such a great break for me. Plus, they were exhausted at the end of the day.
